April is #StressAwarenessMonth, a time to encourage open conversations about the impact of stress and explore new ways to cope. This year, the theme is #LeadWithLove, which promotes approaching ourselves and others with kindness, compassion and acceptance to help reduce stress and improve overall mental wellbeing.
When faced with danger, your body’s natural reaction is to give you a rush of adrenaline (often called the ‘fight or flight’ response). This feeling of stress is perfectly normal. It might happen ahead of a job interview, exam or important meeting or when you’re stuck in traffic. You might feel stressed about the cost of living or political uncertainties around the world. Or you might be experiencing relationship problems or health worries.
