Pathway through Pain is a pain management programme for chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain.

Pathway through Pain is a pain management programme for chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain. Participants can expect to improve their health and wellbeing, reduce the impact of pain and gain the skills and knowledge to effectively manage pain and day-to-day challenges in the long term.

Through a combination of physical and psychological therapies, participants learn expert-led pain management strategies that help them to better understand their pain and improve their quality of life. 

Besides the physical symptoms, evidence shows a clear link between chronic pain and poor mental health, including anxiety, low mood and sleep problems [1].

Designed and delivered by experts, Pathway through Pain is NHS-approved and shown to be effective across real world implementations and peer review studies [2]. It delivers all the elements of an intensive Pain Management Programme (PMP), usually only delivered in a face-to-face or group setting. Participants will be led through 24 short and manageable steps comprising of pre-recorded video-led sessions, exercises and assignments, with accompanying motivational emails. 

Anyone with chronic MSK pain can benefit from the programme as a wide range of knowledge and pain management techniques are learned. Some time and motivation are required to achieve the most benefit, so the key is regular practice.

The programme can be completed over 4 weeks, however the flexibility of the programme structure means that participants can complete at their own pace, taking breaks whenever needed.

Pathway through Pain is offered free of charge through Good Thinking to anyone living or working in London.
